(Yes, even my sweet girl likes to do PiYo with mommy!
When she wants me to workout,
she'll say "Mommy, PiYo!!!")
The newest program from Beachbody just came out towards the end of this past June. I was one of the blessed coaches to be able to do a live workout with Chalene Johnson herself (the trainer in these videos) and then purchase the program at our annual coach training in Vegas (Beachbody's Coach Summit) and take it home with me.
What I've Noticed So Far:
-improved balance and flexibility (I really have needed to work on flexibility in particular. Loving that I am seeing progress here!)
-tighter thighs and buns (oo la la! haha... this has been my problem area! I lost 5 inches off each thigh in the past year, but they have needed firming!)
-I really don't feel like I need weights to build up by "guns" (And I had really been liking using weights with 21 Day Fix, so I am surprised I don't miss them!)
-The nutrition guide is so similar to 21 Day Fix that the eating part is easy! (eating is ALWAYS my favorite part of any program!) Also, it incorporates my favorite meal of the day, Shakeology!
-I really look forward to each workout of the PiYo program. From Drench, to Sweat, to Core, I love them all! And they all go by really fast!
-I never feel "beat up" after a workout. Yes, I feel sore and yes, I feel like I have definitely done something, but I don't get that OOOOWWWWW my muscles HURT like I would get from other exercises or running. And speaking of other exercises, this one can be done along with other exercises and is excellent for runners because of the way you are strengthening and stretching your muscles through PiYo.
-It is for ANY fitness level (there is an amazing modifier, Michelle, who will show you how to do the "starter version").
-It is for ANY age!!! If you don't believe me, ask my 60-something parents who are doing this program! (Go Mom and Dad! Woot, woot!!!) Oh, and they are LOVING it, btw!
The different workouts range from 20 min - 45 min long. There is even an instructional one for when you first start out to ensure that you get the moves down with proper form. From Upper Body, Lower Body, Core, Strength Intervals, Sweat, Drench, Buns, and more, you will be toning and strengthening muscles you didn't even know you had! And your core, something that is usually very weak on most people (especially us Mamas who carried around sweet babies for MONTHS!), will get so much stronger due to all the balancing, planks, and other core tightening moves.
